Guillermo Bazan, professor of chemistry and biochemistry and of materials, is featured in the journal Advanced Materials 2018 Hall of Fame, a series of articles that takes a snapshot of the leading research and best insights materials science has to offer while acting as a touchstone for future materials researchers. Bazan, whose research group focuses on the “molecular design and synthesis of innovative, functional materials for applications in organic electronics, bioelectrochemical devices, as well as industrially-relevant polyolefin synthesis,” works on the forefront of organic photovoltaics, opening the door to finer control of their manufacture, resulting in the next generation of higher-performing and versatile solar cells.
