Strengthening regional ties through the Eddleman Quantum Institute and National Science Foundation-funded initiatives

State policy leaders and distinguished researchers recently convened on campus for "Quantum California," a strategic session dedicated to the future of the region's quantum science and industrial sector. "One of the things we have going for us is that we work together," said Ram Seshadri, director of the Materials Research Laboratory, highlighting the campus’s tradition of cross-departmental innovation.

The convening highlighted the critical need for expanded facilities and specialized workforce training. According to David Weld, co-director of the Eddleman Quantum Institute, space for cutting-edge instrumentation and shared laboratories like The Quantum Foundry remains a top priority.
